Moving Consultant - Full Time - Calgary, Alberta
General Description:
- Strong knowledge of all of the products and services offered by Matco and United Van Lines and the ability to sell these services to our customers both over the phone and in person.
- Strong understanding of rates both local and Van line.
- Has strong understanding of all Gov’t, Van Line, and inter-branch paperwork as well as all tariffs and distribution.
- Data entry into the Matco moves system of prospects and booked customers.
- Understands the claim process and answers customer enquiries as a liaison with the claims coordinator.
- Preparation and submission of reports as requested from time to time by management.
- Accurate estimation of weight of household goods shipments.
- Accurate and complete submission of all estimate/sales related paperwork.
- Knowledge of and working ability of Palm based program for estimating Government orders.
- Understanding of and ability to counsel government transferees on the policies where it relates to moving and storage of their belongings.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Physical requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods of time in both the office and in a vehicle.
- Ability to walk short distances and climb stairs frequently.
- Repetitive hand movements involving data entry and use of a palm pilot.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, as delivery of packing materials may be required.
- Must have the ability to physically get in and out of customers homes, places of business.
Work Experience and Education requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills required.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong customer service aptitude.
- Valid drivers license
The above position is full time 40 hours per week, base salary with commission and reports to Branch Manager.
